About Me
I served 32 yrs. In the Navy Nurse Corps and I am a Viet Nam and Desert Storm veteran. I retired as a Captain, having learned much about teamwork, leadership and making the hard decisions that go with big responsibilities.
I am a mother and grandmother and I can relate to parents who look to the school board for the best learning opportunities for their child.
I am a Registered Nurse with a graduate degree in Psychiatric / Mental Health Nursing with extensive experience in childhood development and Special Education.
I understand how the COVID challenges can affect students’ mental health and their academic achievement.
I taught Nursing and Psychology in three universities and understand the complexities of a good curriculum. Teachers and Educational Specialists are the experts and know how to do this. Hire the best, support them and let them do their job.
I served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Brazil and traveled extensively. I have taken a hard look at our country from the outside and there is much work to be done to eliminate divisiveness and restore respect and tolerance. Where better to begin than in our classrooms?I am a mother and grandmother and I can relate to parents who look to the school board for the best learning opportunities for their child.
